Day 71 – The Light Experiment

The Ring of Light

This is the result of my “Light experiment”. Choose a light source which is at a distance. On a low exposure time (1/5) and Fnumber (5.6) simply click and move the camera in random patterns. This gives a solid light and a blurred background. The blurred background you see here are trees and a house. I wanted an ellipse and I got one !! Make sure no flash is used for this and the movement of your hand be steady. I used the light from a bulb in a house a little distance away. It almost looks like a watercolor dont you think? or am I overestimating ?? Hmm

  1. I love playing with light. I agree, the background looks like a watercolor. I like to do this at night with car lights too. Just sitting in a parking lot gives you all kinds of different shots.

  2. I agree that it looks like a watercolor. Very clever shot that worked out perfectly. The more you look at it the more lovely and interesting it becomes.

  3. Very interesting. I just got a new camera and I still have it set on the “automatic” setting. I’m not quite ready for this kind of “stuff” yet. Soon, I hope. Mickie 🙂
