After the Bohri Thaal, it’s time for another extravagant dream food from the Bohra Bohra Cafe. There are some things you have to experience for the sheer hospitality and effort that goes into making it a success. I had the pleasure of having a Bohri thaal a few months back. The Bohra Bohra Thaal is another such experience but think “homely” and rustic to the core.
Each of the thali can seat 6-8 people. We were 5 this time. Rehana and Arpitha were fabulous hosts for the evening.
All Bohri meal starts with a few grains of salt to clean the palate and then followed by a sweet dish. The savoury dishes follows subsequently. The kheer is not in the picture.
Some of the dishes that were served.
Smoked Chicken Keema Samosa – Exactly as the name suggests. Lovely smoky flavor
Mutton Shammi Kebab – This was Rehana’s mother’s recipe with egg wash. Enjoyed it
Raan in Red masala – Exquisitely cooked mutton which was fall off the bone.. The spices matched perfectly and did not overwhelm the meat
Anjeer Halwa – From a store but there was also a homemade version which was less sweet and I liked that better
Mutton Biryani – Perfectly served for us to mix and match the rice and masala as per our taste.
Bohri Alu – This is taken as a salad throughout the meal
Sancha Icecream – Lovely.. Period
This is a non vegetarians fantasy come true. Good Food Good meat Good God Let’s Eat !
