Sanjay Dhaba features in this series on dhabas. When it comes to comfort factor during travel highway dhabas fill this gap with elan. The khatiyas and homely atmosphere and food fill the soul and tummy like no one else can.
Zomato showed me Sanjay Dhaba when we were on our way to Hebbal from Yelahanka after a disasterous party that never happened . It looked small and dingy from outside but surprised us as we went in.. There are separate places for family and the liquor section… Quite a few families could be seen around 10:30 – 11:00 when we went there. They also had a khatiya (bed with straw mattresses) arrangement which suited us a good deal. To find this in city, priceless
What We Wolfed at Sanjay Dhaba?
After a round of beer in the non family section 🙂 we then came back to sit on the khatiya with our feet free of the footwear and legs extended comfortably and a plank of wood that served as the table between us…
We did not go in for a three course leisure meal though. We ordered everything together which included roti, dal tadka (lentil curry fried finished with oil fried spices and condiments for a spicy finish) and chicken fry. The taste was expected along the lines of any standard dhaba and left us quite satisfied. All this was wrapped with thick cold lassi and off we went back to our regular lives…
