Carnivore Diaries – Hotel Sahana

Hotel Sahana is part of the carnivore series where Phenomenal World covers local non veg cuisines from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. If a hotel makes it to this list, it is awesome.

Sahana Rating

Actually I am surprised this is not yet part of this blog considering I went there almost 2 years back.  I came across Sahana Hotel when I searched Google for military hotels around Wilson Garden. I saw a Naidu hotel but decided to go with Sahana based on the reviews. This is a very easy to miss place on the first floor. The google maps did make us try to catch our tail but we were smarter and eventually found it.

What We Wolfed (WWW) at Sahana?

The menu is a result of multiple trips to Sahana but my menu is usually the standard items.  This is such an absolutely phenomenal place. Had mutton biryani ragi mudde mutton chops mutton fry and mutton leg soup and also parceled two biryani. I would say this is at par (or better) than Shivaji.  I have also had their mutton brain.  The flavor of every food makes you sit and open your eyes wide; not only with the hit of heat but also the pop that comes in the brain when you bite into something sensational (man mein laddu phooti?)

My average bill per trip was around Rs. 600 and that too with food bursting at the seams.  Definitely a must try place even if you are not around Wilson Garden…
